Coffee’s reputation as a tasty morning pick-me-up makes it the choice of busy people everywhere when needing a burst of energy. For many, it becomes a morning ritual. However, studies show that coffee’s benefits may last beyond the initial caffeine jolt.
A recent study at Johns Hopkins found that coffee increases memory retention up to 24 hours after the beverage’s consumption. The test study used 200 milligrams of caffeine, roughly the same amount as a regular cup of caffeinated coffee.
Studies have also linked caffeine consumption to helping prevent disorders linked to cognitive and brain function, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease.
In moderation, coffee can have great health, mood, and memory-boosting benefits.
